Lionel Estève

Deliberately surpassing the confines of the catalogue, the publication devoted to Lionel Estève presents the particular nature of his artistic practice, notably based on learning and autonomy. This method of working, consisting of repeated attempts and gestures, sometimes results in the creation of monumental installations, as in the case of the exhibition Les Saisons (The Seasons). Revealing unpublished photographs of his studio in the South of France, the river where he gleans stones, his studio in Brussels, the staging of the exhibition and finally the works installed in the museum space, this book takes us on a journey through the construction of a singular body of work.
