Projects for the 20th anniversary of MACS

This autumn, the MACS is celebrating its twentieth anniversary! To mark the occasion, the museum has invited Laurent Busine, honorary director, to design an exhibition. Entitled Les Fabriques du coeur et leur usage, it considers the singularity of each person's gaze and brings together works of art, objects of curiosity and images of everyday life.

In connection with the exhibition, a series of activities and projects will enrich this celebration:

Discovery of the reserves of the MACS accompanied by a member of the conservation service, to learn more about protecting contemporary works.

For its 20th anniversary, the MACS is creating a series of short videos filmed in the reserves. Nine people from different backgrounds present their favourite works from the collection (including Nan Goldin, Christian Boltanski, and Jean-Marie Bytebier) and share their unique perspective.

IF YOU TRAVEL BY TRAIN, IT’S FREE!

For the duration of the exhibition Les Fabriques du coeur et leur usage, access to the Grand-Hornu site will be free on presentation of a valid train ticket to Mons or Saint-Ghislain for the same day. The entry ticket also provides access to the exhibitions of the CID – centre for innovation and design at Grand-Hornu.
